COVID-19 Update / 12 April 2021
Dear guest and visitors of THE OLD DRUM,
Over this summer we have adapted and transitioned to meet the updated regulations and the nation’s mood and we would like to personally thank both our teams and you, our guests, for just going with the flow, and responding with patience and an understanding of the responsibility we all have to each other.
We are still doing everything we can to go over and above the Government’s guidelines for safety in hospitality and will from today be adhering to the legal requirements that have just been set out.
So, what does that mean for you?
10pm Curfew
Our bistro, hotel and bar will be closed from 10pm. This does mean our lounge will also be closing to non-residents at 10pm, so we ask that if you are enjoying a few post-dinner drinks that you have left and are making your way home by 10pm.
If you are staying with us then you are welcome to finish your drinks in our lounge or breakfast room and we can of course bring a bottle to your room.
Our Reservations team will be in touch with you as soon as possible if this affects your booking. We would really appreciate it if you let us get in touch with you rather than calling us at this time, as our teams will be doing their best to help you all with your plans.
Table Service Only
All food and drink orders will be taken by a member of staff once seated at a table. No orders at the bar are accepted. This means that upon your arrival a member of staff will take your personal details, measure your temperature and assign you to a table. Payments have to be made after each order at the table.
Face Coverings
In addition to all guests being required to wear face coverings when moving around the hotel, all of our teams will now be wearing them in public areas.
Rule of Six
We will be sticking to the rule of six – you can be from multiple households or one household, but six is still the magic number! We are sorry if your household or support bubble is over this number but to keep it simple, we will only be taking a maximum of six people for a booking until further notice.
NHS Test and Trace
From today the NHS Test and Trace poster will be displayed at the front of the hotels. If you have the NHS COVID-19 app you can quickly and easily ‘check in’ to THE OLD DRUM by scanning the QR code. If you do not have the App, we will be asking every guest (not just the lead guest) to leave their details so that we can submit these to NHS Test and Trace. The guidance is if there is more than one person in a booking, then you can record the name of the ‘lead member’ of the group (of up to 6 people) and the number of people in that group.

Please be advised that the following measures and requests will be in place before, during and after your stay with us.
